Freeride touring trip in France
April 2011: Freeride touring trip 3 Vallées - Vanoise
The french Alps are fascinating me, I love the mountains and so it was an easy decision to follow the invitation of Timy Théaux, Val Thorens' located freeskier, to join him and mountain guide/climber/freeskier Tony Lamiche on a freeride touring trip in the backside of 3 Vallées Val Thorens - Meribel - Chourchevel beginning of April 2011!!! (hihi, it was more like I couldn't wait to go there cause of being so excited and happy about the invitation, thanks for sharing these days Timy!!!)
Photographer Dom Daher came along with us, a great honour for me to work with him, thanks Dom!

On Wednesday, 30th of March I got a call from Timy - "Sandy, we gonna do the trip in our first time window, looks like we get 4 sunny days in a row and we even got some fresh snow the last hours, so get on the plane tomorrow, I'll pick you up in Geneva!" Yeah, I was waiting for that kind of message the last couple of days... Ok, so I booked my flight and packed my stuff: a new, bigger ABS-backpack (Vario 18 liter, as normally I used the Powder line 5 liter), a new black light combo from Peak - super light but functional - perfect for hiking, my harness, skins and my Wateas 98 with the Duke and all the rest like protection gear, helmet, goggles, beacon....
Les 3 Vallées - 3 riders - 3 days!
It was such a good trip, great atmosphere, great skiing, beautiful scenery and views.... I enjoyed every second in the mountains up there ! (Well ok, I could have skipped the lesson a couloir gave me with its sluff pushing myself over a cliff.... :( )

More pictures and the whole story of the trip in some magazines in fall!
